First Sales of the Challenge

I made my first sale of this challenge. The make a million challenge has been going for a few months now and I have finally made a sale. One of my Squidoo lenses managed to generate not one, but two sales in the same day. It was my R2D2 Gifts lens and someone bought a Plush Chewbacca toy and a Plush Yoda toy. I know that I will not make a huge amount of money from the commission of these toys but any money is money and can be added to the million dollar target.

Another Squidoo Payday

Today I logged onto Squidoo.com and found that I had gotten my monthly payout. This month I made $10.20. My earnings are increasing and I am getting closer to making one million dollars.

This means that
$999961.29 - $10.20 = $999951.09 Left to earn.

Each month I am getting closer to earning one million dollars. Not only am I getting closer to my target but I am also increasing my earnings each month. There are fluctuations but overall my earnings are increasing. I hope that by the time my wife gives birth to our first child my earnings will at least be in the triple figures. To be honest I am just happy that I am making any money from writing. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for my challenge.

Big News

I have had a very busy week as I have found out that my wife is pregnant. I am going to be a Daddy. This means that getting $1,000,000 will be very useful as the income I earn online can go towards paying for all of the baby things that are required. I am going to be putting more energy into making more money online so that I can give my child all the things that he/she deserves. This is my first child so I am really nervous about it and am spending hours every day reading about babies and pregnancy. It is very scary.

Made another $20 Today (27/07/11)

I decided to try to sell four of my Squidoo lenses. I posted in the Squidu forum asking if anybody wanted to buy my lenses. Within an hour of posting I had been offered $20 for the lenses. It was all so quick and it makes me think that I should give lens flipping a serious try as it could make me a lot more money. The thing is that I would have to write loads and flip them really quickly to make a lot of money and my busy life would not allow for that to happen.

That being said I did put together a "Lenses for sale" lens and have put a few of my lenses on there to try to sell them although if it doesn't work I will carry on selling through the Squidu forum.

With the $20 I made today that means that I have $999961.29 left to make. This may take a while but I will eventually get there.

I have had quite a productive couple of weeks. I have added to my army of articles. I have written one article for Squidoo.com and a couple for Hubpages. I also wrote a two new articles for Triond. These new articles represent an added weapon in my arsenal. Each of those articles will help me to get ever closer to my million dollar goal. Content is king so the more content you have the more money you will make. Although you must remember that the content must be quality content and unique otherwise you will not get targeted traffic and you will not make any sales. Quality over quantity.

Creating a passive income guide

I was recently contacted by a person who has read several of my articles and has taken an interest in this here blog. He recommended a book to me that I have now purchased and read from cover to cover twice. My contact told me that if I wanted to make a million dollars I should read Secrets to creating a passive income and becoming financially free - even in a slow economy by John Clark Craig.

I wasn't sure at first if this book would be of any help in my goal but decided to give it a try. I figured that if it was no good I could always resell it on Amazon. The thing is the book was great there are a lot of useful tips and  some really great advice within it that I will be attempting to implement in my own projects. The best part about this book is that it gives tons of information about ways to make money that do not require you to spend hundreds of dollars on software and schemes. For almost every money making technique within this book you already have the required items to make the project work. Hopefully I will begin to see some improvement in my passive earnings after following some of the advice from the book.

Blogging Reviews

I recently read a newspaper article that was about a guy who had managed to blag about £40,000 of free stuff by using his blog and writing about products. I decided to look into this and found that there are many review blogs out there and some of them do get free sample products sent to them. There are some amazing blogs that review electronics such as things like the iPad and stuff like that and companies send them the product so that they can write about it.

This may be an idea to try out I could quite easily make a blog. I could start a blog that reviews products I have around my house and give an honest review of them and whether they are worth the money or not. If I do that and then manage to make it a popular blog companies may send me free samples so that I could tell people about them.

Some companies do this because they like to create a buzz about their product so that people are more likely to buy it. Sending a couple of iPads to popular review blogs would mean that Apple were saving a lot of money advertising. Sending those free samples to the blogs would have cost less than a big TV ad campaign it also means that Apple is reaching a global audience without spending huge amounts of money.
